Different causes of Receding Gums need Different Treatment

There are so many reasons why receding gums usually happens. Receding gums is the exposure of the roots thus making the gums and bones move away from the teeth.
i. First it can be a part of aging,
ii. Some may due to genetics;
iii. Sometimes it can be a result of hard or harsh brushing and
iv. As well as gum disease.
v. Misaligned growth of adult teeth
vi. Too much build up of plaque that is deposited in the gum line
As we age, the tendency to have gum recession is higher but it can be prevented by practicing good oral hygiene. Actually these are just few of the causes and can also be considered as a symptom of receding gums and eventually may result into a much bigger dental problem if left untreated. Receding gums are very visible when you noticed that the tooth appears longer than usual, because the larger part of the tooth or crown is exposed. However, if the main cause of the receding gums is due to gum disease such as gingivitis. Visit your dental health specialist as soon as possible to properly address the problem. Before giving treatment to receding gum problems first determined what really causes it.
In this manner, patients with receding gum problems will be given proper treatment accordingly. There are several receding gums treatment procedures to follow in order to give solution to this particular gum problem.
i. If gum recession caused by hard brushing, then settle for a good set of soft bristled toothbrush and avoid harsh brushing strokes to prevent gums from being hit by the edges of the toothbrush. Use an anti-bacterial mouthwash instead of an alcohol-based and fluoride content toothpaste. Strong chemicals can irritate the gums.
ii. If there is too much build up of plaque in the gum line, plaque deposits contain bacteria that can cause irritation and inflammation to the gums, then visit your dentist to have an oral prophylaxis or dental cleaning. In severe cases, scaling procedure will be done to remove calculus or tartar. Another procedure is the root planning, as receding gums treatment or healing the inflamed gums.
If the above mentioned dental procedures cannot provide solution to the receding gum problems then the last option would be;
iii. A soft-tissue graft surgery will be done to add more tissues to the gum line to prevent or act as receding gums treatment from too much recession.
